This post says this showstopper was built in 1964 for Stanley Stone, founder of Echo Park‘s Stone Brothers furniture store (later renamed La Popular; closed since 2011)
The architect created an elegant interior with a grand foyer that separates the public sections of the home for dining and entertaining from the private area consisting of a step down living room and the bedrooms.
Impeccably preserved details include original hardware and walls of glass allowing for lots of natural light. And there’s a sunken wet bar, along with the master bathroom’s matching under mounted tub and sinks with marble surround and countertops, gorgeous gold bamboo tile, floor to ceiling cabinetry and service quarters hidden behind a sleek wood paneled wall with a separate entrance.
But the most emoji heart eye inducing detail in the home are the pristinely maintained Terrazzo floors. There’s just something about them that’ll make you wanna throw on a pair of socks and do you best Tom Cruise in Risky Business scene.
The Stone Residence hit the market for the first time in 30 years in 2015 with an asking price of $2,324,900. The current asking price for this modernist jewel box is $2,250,000.
