Los Angeles based designer Cliff Fong is no stranger to making spacious interiors feel glamorously luxurious. So, when his pied-à-terre hit the market I was more than curious to see what he did with approximately 420 square feet.

Koreatown
Fong’s studio is located on the top floor of a 1927 French château-style building in Koreatown, a burgeoning neighborhood just south of Hancock Park.
His main residence was located just below his studio. True to his sense of style that, “in fashion and décor, my real interest is in the mix. It takes no imagination to wear one designer head to toe … that doesn’t express style; it expresses financial freedom,” he decorated his space by pairing unlikely items like a Florence Knoll dining table with a set of Borge Mogensen chairs.
He stuck to his style guns when decorating his studio too.
From the weathered and worn leather sofa, to the chandelier casting a beautiful light in the living room to a simple, modern, bed; Fong’s selection of statement pieces makes this small space feel grand.
But the true pièce de résistance of Fong’s studio is a private, 600 square foot rooftop deck with breathtaking views of Downtown LA and the city.
